Sonam and Rana Daggubati not friends anymore?

Sonam Kapoor and popular south star Rana Daggubati (son of producer Suresh Naidu and the nephew of actor Venkatesh) were friends at a point in time. Rana made his debut early this year in the Telugu film Leader. He makes his B-Town entry with Rohan Sippy’s Dum Maro Dum.
 
The actress and Rana became friends as their dads have known each other for years. Anil Kapoor has worked in several of D Ramanaidu’s films and the two families are quite close.
 
Sonam and Rana met for the first time during Milind Deora and Pooja Shetty’s wedding reception in 2008 where they exchanged numbers and stayed in touch. Whenever Rana was in the city, he would try and catch up with Sonam.
 
However, their friendship didn’t last too long. Even though there was nothing romantic between the two, the actress was a bit perturbed after she heard that Rana had a long-standing history of befriending girls and then pulling a disappearing act. After that Sonam took a step back and downgraded him from a friend to an acquaintance.
 
A source reveals, "When Rana and Sonam were friends, everyone thought their friendship might develop into something more. However, that never happened."
 
Sonam however maintains that they are still friends. She says, "Rana is a family friend and a brother."

Heroine wanted for Rana

Leader Rana is doing a new film under the direction of Selva Raghavan who directed sensational films like “7/G Brindavan Colony“, Adavari Matalaku Arthalu Verule” and “Yuganiki Okkadu“. Director looking for a female lead to cast opposite to Rana for that film. This film will be produced by Suresh Productions. This film is scheduled to start shooting within a month.
 
They are looking for a girl with athletic build, innocent looks and must possess an angelic face with girl next door look, to be cast opposite Rana in this venture. The person must possess good acting skills. Prior experience is not a must but would be an added advantage.

Hero Rana’s next movie With Selva Raghavan

Rana Daggubati much appreciated for his performance in movie Leader has choosen his next director to be Selva Raghavan.
 
Hero Rana Daggubati has agreed to do his next movie in Telugu as a male lead under director Selva Ragahvan of Yuganiki Okkadu fame. The untitled film would be a bilingual, produced by Suresh Productions.
 
The movie is planned to be released in telugu and Tamil and the shooting is commencing from may.

Rana wants to remake Leader in Hindi

Rana who entered into Tollywood with the film Leader, now he wants do Remake that movie in Hindi. Rana entering into Bollywood with the movie Dum Maro Dum under Rohan Sippy’s direction.
 
Hero Rana says "The political message of the film is definitely not restricted to AP and it belongs to all the politicians. I wouldd like to remake the film into Tamil and then maybe Hindi. After completion of my hindi debut Dum Maro Dum movie.

‘Leader’s first week collections from Nizam

 The latest news is that ‘Leader’ has collected Rs.1.72 crores in first week alone from Nizam territory. AVM Productions produced this film and Geetha Arts bought the complete rights for this film. Rana’s performance, Shekar Kammula’s direction and dialogues have struck the right chord with people. The film is doing considerably well in the A-centres across the state. The lead females in the movie Richa Gangopadhyay and Priya Anand also made their debut in Tollywood.

Leader Rana’s Tollywood bash

Rana hosted a bash to celebrate the success of his movie Leader at a restaurant in Jubilee Hills on Wednesday night. Tollywood personalities Mani Shankar, Venkatesh, Dil Raju, Prakash Raj, Suresh Babu, Sindhura Gadde, Sushant, Sumanth and others turned up for the bash and were seen bonding with the younger P3 lot over exotic cocktails. The party went on till well past midnight and Rana played the perfect host. Rana’s pals Gokul, Shagun, Rajiv Mallu, Kiran Raju and Varun Reddy were seen spotted having a blast.
 
From Ravi Teja and Venkatesh to the young brigade led by Ram Charan, Allu Arjun and Nag Chaitanya, the list was star-studded. The ladies were there as well, dressed to kill. Sindhura Gadde’s white outfit gets the thumbs up but her silver shoes were a complete let down. Richa’s purple number was good but she failed to score in the footwear department. Nag Chaitanya kept it simple in trousers and shirt while Allu Arjun and Ram Charan went casual, ditto RaNa.

‘Leader’ Premiere show tonight in Hyderabad

Shekar Kammula’s latest film ‘Leader’ is just a day away from its grand worldwide release. Rana is making his debut with this film. AVM Studios is producing the film. Richa Gangopadhyay and Priya Anand are also making their debut in Telugu with this film. The film will have its premiere in Hyderabad in Prasad’s IMAX Theater later tonight. Several bigies and members from film industry are expected to come for the premiere.

‘Leader’ Releasing Tomorrow

The much-awaited Rana Daggubati starrer and Shekar Kammula’s branded film "Leader" will be hitting screens tomorrow on Februray 19, 2010.The prestigious AVM film production is making this film. Tagore Madhu has obtained the rights for the film distribution in Andhra region.Music is scored by Mickey J Mayer.The film stars debutants Richa Gangopadhyay and Priya Anand as heroines. This movie subject directly relates to politics. It is learnt that Director Sekhar kammula want to show the people how a leader should be and what qualities he should have to be a leader. The current political scenario of the state certainly needs an eye opening film like Leader.

Leader is in Trouble

Sekhar Kammula’s forthcoming ’Leader’ starring RaNa is all set to hit the screens on 19th of February. But the film is in trouble with the logo not the story or title. The title design of Leader is facing this legal trouble.
 

Mr. Ramana Murthy, hailing from Vizag runs a daily Newspaper (Evening edition) with same title ’ Leader’, which is similar to the movie logo.
 
Mr. Ramanamurthy has issued legal notices to RaNa, Director Shekar Kammual and AVM for using this tile without his permission.

Bipasha confirmed Opposite to Rana

Everyone knows that Rana entering into bollywood with the movie "Dum Maaro Dum". Bollywood Director cum Producer Rohan Sippy offered him second hero’s role to Daggubati Rana for the film ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ . Abhishek Bachchan will be playing lead role in this film. The latest news about the flick is that Bollywood beauty Bipasha Basu has been confirmed for the romantic lead opposite Rana. Earlier, it was in talks that Kangna Ranaut was in consideration, but finally Bipasa has been chosen for the role.

As per the sources Rohan Sippy’s "Dum Maro Dum" has finally found a leading lady - Kangna Ranaut. She is set to play a Goan junkie in the film. Although Kangna has Abhishek Bachchan as her co-star in Dum Maro Dum, but she is being cast opposite the Daggubati Rana who makes his Hindi debut. However, the interesting part is that Kangna will be paired with her one-time boyfriend Aditya Pancholi, who plays the arch-villain named Biscuit.

Leader Release Postponed Again!

Daggubati Rana’s debut film ‘Leader’ movie which was slated for a release on Feb 11th is now postponed to Feb19th due to the distribution problems. Allu Aravind’s Geeta Arts has bought the rights of ‘Leader’ film all over A.P except Vizag and Ceeded areas.

The movie is directed by the hat-trick director Shekar Kammula and is produced by M.Saravanan, M.S.Guhan, Aruna Guhan and Aparna Guhan under the AVM Productions banner. This is 174th film for AVM Productions. Mickey J Meyer has composed the music and Thota Tharani is the art director and production designer. Richa Gangopadhya and Priya Anand, new comers, are starring as heroines.

Geetha Arts Acquires 'Leader' Rights in AP

The mega banner ‘Geeta arts’ seems to be going high these days. Geeta Arts that has bagged the several big budget films rights has now bought the rights of Daggubati Rana’s ‘Leader’ film. The banner has earlier acquired Avatar which is a biggest hit, Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Komaram Puli’ and Mahesh-Trivikram’s latest film.

According to sources, Geetha Arts has made this deal with AVM Productions and Suresh Productions for an undisclosed amount. If sources are to be believed, the mega banner has asked the producers of the film, AVM productions to postpone the film’s release so that the film would be promoted highly and will be able to release in best theatres in the state. Taking all these issues into consideration, the final date of its release will be informed soon.

‘Leader’ In Copy Right Controversy

Shekar Kammula’s directorial ‘Leader’ with Rana as a debutant is landed with copy right controversy. Writer Shiva, who works in film industry, claimed that the basic idea behind the story of Leader is his own and he also filed a complaint in writers association against director Shekar Kammula and has demanded a compensation of Rs.25lakhs.

On the other way Shekar Kammula refused with his statement and said, “ I need not to lift somebody else story to make my film. I still have number of concepts in my brain for my future projects. If, I agree to pay even a single rupee it proves that I really copied his story “.

”While the ongoing Andhra-Telangana agitations are severely affecting the film industry, this kind of claims will further ruin the producers,” he added.

Leader movie is made with 17 Crore Budget

 

Sekhar Kammula’s leader with RaNa is all set to release on 11th of February. As for inside sources says that the film is made with huge budget of Rs17 Crores and the film took 200 days shoot to complete. It is a huge amount for new hero’s film.
 
Kota Srinivasa Rao, Suhasini, Tanikella Bharani, Subbaraju, Ahuti Prasad, Gollapudi Maruti Rao, Suman, Harshavardhan and Rao Ramesh are in other roles. Mickey J. Meyer is composing the music. 

‘Leader’ Rana Walks to Fight Leprosy on World Leprosy Day

Actor Rana Daggubati along with 450 other participants walk to spread awareness about leprosy on Necklace Road to Raj Bhavan Road on Sunday morning,which was organised by LEPRA India with presence of J.Satyanarayana Health Secretary.

'Leader' Gets Its Release Date

The much awaited film Daggupati Raana’s Leader has finally got its release date. The movie is slated to release on Feb 11th. Leader has created huge hype among the audience even before its release. Leader is said to be a political drama based on today’s politics.
